The Austin Bloom Story

Hey, we're Estée and Stu. This is our studio, in the Adelaide Hills, Australia.

We started Austin Bloom after our wedding as a floristry business, established in 2012, with a roadside stall at Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. During this time we made daily flowers, did hundreds of weddings, conceptual corporate events for the likes of Penfolds, Vogue and Tasting Australia and also ran much loved wreath-making workshops in person.

Around 2018 we decided to discontinue the physical flower shops and staff we had, with our first child Mimi being born. With our backgrounds before flowers in design, art, graphics and sculpture, we felt there was work still to be done in these fields, and have come a full circle back to our heritage as designers and artists.

What we make, and how

Original fine art - botanical, still life, abstract - printed on 310gsm cotton rag paper or archival satin canvas, in open editions and small numbered editions, sized anywhere from A4 to A0. Our substrates and pigment inks rated for 100+ years of wall life. Materials are sourced from suppliers working with responsibly-managed stock. Originals and limited editions are made in small, signed and numbered editions. Once an edition sells through, it's retired.

Our methods are varied based on the collections we're working on - combining mediums and approaches; we're always experimenting with mark-making and different techniques.
