Dutch Masters Style Art
The Dutch Golden Age produced some of the most extraordinary still life and floral painting in Western art history. Rich, dark backgrounds. Dramatic chiaroscuro lighting. Flowers and objects rendered with almost obsessive detail, glowing against the darkness.
It's an aesthetic that never went out of style — and it's the direct inspiration for some of Austin Bloom's most dramatic work. Estée Austin's Dutch Masters-inspired prints capture that same atmosphere: deep backgrounds, warm directional light, and subjects — flowers, fruit, organic objects — that feel like they exist in their own world.
These are the moodiest, most dramatic prints in our range. They're for rooms that want presence, depth, and a touch of the theatrical. Perfect for anyone drawn to moody floral prints and dramatic botanical art.
Each piece is produced in limited quantities on archival canvas or 310gsm cotton rag.

Where Dark Floral & Moody Art Works
The Dutch Masters aesthetic is surprisingly versatile:
Feature walls in living rooms — A large dark floral canvas against a light wall creates a striking focal point. See living room wall art.
Bedrooms with warm, rich interiors — Dark florals create an intimate, cocooning atmosphere. See bedroom art.
Dining rooms — The still life tradition has always been connected to the dining table. These prints bring that history to life. See dining room art.
Hallways and entryways — Create a memorable first impression with hallway art that sets the tone for your home.
Gallery walls — Combine multiple prints for a curated collection. Explore gallery wall sets.
Dark-walled rooms — Counterintuitively, dark art works beautifully on dark walls. The print becomes part of the atmosphere rather than competing with it.

No. Every print is an original work by Estée Austin. The Dutch Masters aesthetic is a deliberate artistic influence — the compositions, techniques, and atmosphere are inspired by that tradition but the works themselves are entirely new.
Almost anything. Dark florals look striking against white or light grey walls (high contrast), rich against deep greens or navy (tonal harmony), and atmospheric against charcoal or black walls (immersive). They're more versatile than most people expect.
60cm+ is where the detail really starts to shine. At 80–120cm, the compositions become immersive and the fine detail of petals, textures, and lighting effects is fully visible. Explore our large wall art collection to find the perfect size.
