Still life has always been about attention — the way light catches a surface, the weight of an object, the quiet tension between arranged objects. Our compositions draw from the Dutch and Flemish masters — rich, dark backgrounds, dramatic lighting, and subjects chosen for their texture and form. The subjects we use range from floral and fruit arrangements, single stem florals and chooks! The palette tends toward the moody, deep blacks, warm ambers, and soft golds that anchor a room without overwhelming it. Each composition is released in an open edition or limited run on archival canvas or cotton rag — museum-grade materials that will outlast trends. Learn more about our limited edition approach.

WHAT MAKES OUR STILL LIFE PRINTS DIFFERENT?
The Dutch Masters influence.
Estée's still life work is directly informed by 17th-century Flemish and Dutch painting traditions. If you're drawn to the atmosphere of Vermeer, Claesz, or Rachel Ruysch, you'll recognise the sensibility here.
Arranging meets painting meets photography.
Created from arranged, painted and photographed subjects, then composed and refined in the studio. The result is artwork that is both painting and photograph.
Dark palettes that anchor a room.
Still life prints with deep, moody backgrounds work as visual anchors in a space. They draw the eye without competing with everything else in the room.
Museum-grade archival quality.
Printed on cotton rag (310gsm) or premium canvas with archival inks. These are investment pieces. See our canvas vs cotton rag guide.

WHERE TO HANG STILL LIFE ART
Still life prints are exceptionally versatile. Their self-contained compositions and typically neutral-to-warm palettes work in almost any room:
Dining rooms and kitchens — Still life art has a natural home near where food is prepared and shared. See our dining room art.
Living rooms — A large still life canvas makes a sophisticated focal point. Browse our large still life prints.
Studies and home offices — The contemplative quality of still life suits spaces for focused work.
Hallways — Smaller still life prints create moments of visual interest in transitional spaces. See our hallway art collection.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
There's crossover — many of our floral works have still life qualities. The still life collection specifically features multi-object compositions, food subjects, found objects, and arrangements where the overall composition is the focus rather than a single botanical subject.
They're a hybrid. We blend arranged flowers and installations with painted backdrops and elements, using photography to capture the final composition. The result is closer to fine art printmaking — still life rendered with the accuracy of photography and the atmosphere of oil painting.
Still life compositions often have fine detail that rewards a larger format. We'd suggest 60cm+ for a feature wall piece, though 40cm prints work well in grouped arrangements or smaller spaces. Try our view-in-room AR tool to see exactly how a size will look on your wall.
