WHY SIZING IS IMPORTANT

Selecting the right size for your artwork is crucial to achieving the perfect visual balance in your space. A piece that’s too small can feel lost on a large wall, while an oversized print may overwhelm the room. Proper sizing enhances the overall aesthetic and ensures the artwork complements the surrounding decor.

Common pitfalls of incorrect sizing:

DIFFERENT SIZES WE OFFER

The way a piece interacts with its surroundings is just as important as the artwork itself. Here’s how different sizes work within a space.

01. Prints

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE

A few key considerations help guide the selection process:

• Wall space & proportion – The scale of the print should feel intentional within the room.
  
• Single vs. paired prints – A standalone piece makes an impact, while a series creates rhythm and movement.
  
• Room function – The mood of a space can shift depending on the size and placement of artwork.
  
• Framing & matting – A frame adds weight and presence, slightly altering the overall dimensions.
  
• Alignment with furniture – Art should interact harmoniously with the surrounding elements, neither floating aimlessly nor feeling cramped.

Each piece should feel like it belongs, enhancing rather than competing with its environment.

ART & FURNITURE: FINDING BALANCE

The relationship between art and furniture is what makes a space feel considered. Art should feel anchored to the elements around it, creating cohesion rather than clutter.

• Above sofas & beds: A print should span around two-thirds the width of the furniture for a balanced look.
  
• Dining areas & hallways: Centring at eye level ensures the artwork becomes a focal point without overpowering the space.
  
• Gallery walls: Layering different sizes with well-spaced gaps creates depth and flow.

Note that framed pieces can only be shipped to Australia at this stage. International deliveries must be tube rolled.

Framing Options
1. Professional framing by Austin Bloom
Choose a frame colour which suits you and your art will arrive ready to hang.

Fine art paper prints are finished with perspex by default which is better for reflections. If you want glass instead, please add this to your order note.

Fine art canvas prints are stretched and framed in a float frame. These do not include perspex or glass.

2. Local framing for rolled artwork
If you purchase a tube-rolled print, either paper or canvas, contact your local framer to explore options.

You may want to frame with a matt-board to create a traditional art feel, or go with no matt-board for a modern approach.

Also consider reflective vs non-reflective glass finishes, as this will change the nature of the finished piece. For a darker print, we recommend non-reflective finishes where possible.

3. Off-the-shelf frames
Our standard A1 and A3 sizes fit into readily available frames from different shops. We recommend Country Road frames.

Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship worldwide.

How are parcels tracked?
All parcels are sent, registered and tracked with Australia Post.

How are the Austin Bloom products packaged?
Wall Hangings are rolled safely into reinforced cardboard tubes, and taped securely. Other products are sent in strong boxes or tubes depending on the product.

High Peak Shipping Times
Expect delays in shipping times around holiday or celebration dates such as Christmas. Make sure you order early to account for potential delays.

Can I track my item?
Yes. Once we have posted your item, we will send you a courtesy email to confirm shipment. You will also receive a tracking number and shipping updates via email from Australia Post.

I ordered from your shop but I haven’t received any email updates
All emails will be sent to your email address – check there first for order confirmations and updates. You can also log in to your Austin Bloom store account to check order status. If you still can’t find anything please let us know using the contact form.

We offer a 7-day exchange policy for change of mind, but cannot refund purchases for any prints due to the custom made-to-order nature of these products.
